#27: REFRAMING FEAR

This week’s episode comes off the back of a whirlwind weekend in Iceland — a 200km gravel race through mind-blowing terrain, brutal conditions, and plenty of lessons. It was cold, raw, tiring, expensive, and absolutely worth it.

But the real point of this conversation isn’t the race — it’s what people said after.

“You’re so brave.”
“I could never do that.”
“That’s so inspiring — but not for me.”

That got me thinking. Why do so many people write themselves off from doing adventurous, bold things? Where does that belief come from that you’re not that kind of person?

In this episode, I unpack:

  • What I learned from racing in Iceland (beyond the fitness)

  • The danger of telling yourself “I’m not the type of person who…”

  • How capability is built — and why it starts before you believe in yourself

  • Why adventure doesn’t have to be epic or perfect to be meaningful

  • And a reminder that discomfort is meant to feel hard — that’s the point

🎯 If you've ever looked at someone else’s adventure and thought, “I could never do that,” — this one’s for you. You’re probably a lot more capable than you give yourself credit for.

Let’s talk about what’s really holding you back — and how to move through it.
