  • Effective from: 1 January 2025
     

  • This page consolidates the terms for all services offered by Ben Turner Adventures (trading as The Adventure Coach). By enrolling in any adventure, coaching programme, membership, or retreat, you agree to these Terms. Where a section below differs from the general terms, the section-specific terms take precedence.

  • Definitions
     

  • Adventure: Any paid guided activity including the National Three Peaks, Welsh Three Peaks, and future guided events.
     

  • Coaching: Paid 1:1 or group coaching services (online or in person).
     

  • Ever Ready Monthly: Rolling monthly membership programme (formerly “Ever Ready Adventure Membership”).
     

  • Retreat: Multi-day hosted experience combining activity (e.g. hiking, cycling) with accommodation, food, and optional workshops.
     

  • We / Us: Ben Turner Adventures.
     

  • You / Participant / Client / Member: The individual purchasing or attending a service.
     

  • Guided Mountain Adventures
     

  • (Covers the National Three Peaks, Welsh Three Peaks and all future paid guided adventures.)

  • 1.1 Booking & Payment
     

  • A place is secured only upon full payment.


  • Partial or pending payments do not constitute confirmation.


  • Payment must be made via the method stated on the booking platform or invoice.


  • All pricing is in GBP (£) and includes VAT where applicable.


  • You must provide accurate contact details and ensure you receive all pre-event information.


  • Where a non-refundable deposit is specified, that deposit remains non-refundable even if you choose to pay in full at booking. The deposit portion is deemed part of your payment and is refundable only if we cancel the event.

  • 1.2 Cancellation (by you)

  • More than 14 days before the start: refund minus £50 cancellation fee (admin, permits, logistics).


  • Within 14 days: no refund.

  • We strongly recommend personal cancellation insurance to cover illness, injury or unforeseen circumstances.

  • 1.3 Cancellation / Changes (by us)

  • If we cancel due to extreme weather, low participation, safety concerns, or force majeure, you will be offered either a full refund or a free transfer to an alternative date.

  • 1.4 Participation Requirements

  • You must complete the health & safety declaration before the event.


  • You must arrive in suitable physical condition for the challenge.


  • We may refuse participation if you are unfit or inadequately equipped, without refund.


  • No illegal substances or alcohol are permitted on the mountain or during challenge hours.


  • You must follow guide instructions at all times; failure may result in removal from the event.

  • 1.5 Environmental Stewardship

  • Leave no trace.


  • Pack out all personal waste.


  • We support Trash Free Trails and may include voluntary clean-up activities.

  • 1.6 Guiding & Insurance

  • Events are led by qualified professionals (Mountain Leader or higher).


  • Guides are covered by Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Personal Accident insurance.


  • You are strongly encouraged to hold your own travel and accident insurance (including loss of earnings, injury and cancellation).

  • 1.7 Risk & Waiver of Liability

  • Mountain environments involve inherent risks including slips, trips, falls, weather exposure, falling rocks, exhaustion, altitude and wildlife.

  • You participate at your own risk and agree not to hold Ben Turner Adventures, its guides or contractors liable for injury, loss or damage unless caused by proven negligence.

  • We are not responsible for delays, missed transport or other external factors beyond our control.

  • 1.8 Equipment & Clothing

  • A kit list will be issued prior to each adventure.


  • Mandatory kit must be carried.


  • Inadequate equipment may result in exclusion from participation without refund.

  • Coaching Services

  • 2A) Adventure Readiness Challenge (12-Week Programme)

  • Engagement Terms

  • Full participation across the 12-week programme is expected.


  • The service is non-transferable and must be completed by the registered client.

  • 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

  • A refund within the first 30 days is available only if you attended all sessions, submitted all required feedback, concerns were addressed collaboratively, and the programme demonstrably no longer serves your needs after full engagement.

  • 2B) 1:1 Bespoke Coaching Agreement

  • Scope of Service

  • Individualised fitness, nutrition and mindset plans.


  • Private coaching sessions.


  • Unlimited message support.


  • Access to coaching platforms and resources.

  • Minimum Commitment

  • Minimum term of six months.


  • Early cancellation may incur a termination fee equal to the remaining balance.


  • After six months, cancellation requires 30 days’ written notice.

  • 30-Day Guarantee (New Clients)

  • Refunds in the first 30 days are available only if sessions and feedback were completed, agreed actions were followed, and reasonable attempts were made to resolve concerns.

  • Client Responsibilities

  • Attend sessions, provide honest feedback, complete check-ins, disclose injuries or health issues, and pay invoices on time.

  •  

  • Waiver of Liability

  • You accept full responsibility for engaging in physical activity. Ben Turner Adventures accepts no liability for injuries or illness unless caused by proven negligence.

  • Confidentiality

  • Client data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law. Information will not be shared without consent unless legally required.

  • Ever Ready Monthly (Membership)

  • Rolling monthly membership, previously “Ever Ready Adventure Membership”.

  • 3.1 Subscription Terms

  • This is a rolling monthly subscription.


  • Payments are taken automatically each month.


  • You may cancel at any time via written notice.


  • Access ends at the conclusion of the billing cycle.


  • Membership access cannot be paused or transferred unless agreed in writing.

  • 3.2 Member Conduct

  • Members must follow community guidelines. Abuse, unlawful behaviour or spam may result in removal without refund.

  • Retreats 

  • 4.1 Booking & Payment

  • Places are secured upon full payment or an agreed payment plan.


  • Prices are in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.


  • Where a non-refundable deposit is specified, that deposit remains non-refundable even if you pay in full at booking.

  • 4.2 Cancellation Policy (Retreats)

  • If you cancel 30 days or fewer before departure or do not attend, no refund is given.


  • If you cancel 31 to 60 days before departure, you receive 50% of the trip price.


  • If you cancel more than 60 days before departure, you receive 100% minus the non-refundable deposit and a £50 admin fee.

  • 4.3 Participation & Conduct

  • Health disclosures are mandatory.


  • Guide and host instructions must be followed at all times.


  • No illegal substances are permitted. Alcohol is allowed only in moderation and never before or during active sessions.


  • Participation may be refused without refund for safety or conduct reasons.

  • 4.4 Accommodation & Rooming

  • Twin or double rooms are standard.


  • Single occupancy may require a supplement and is subject to availability.


  • Guests are responsible for any damage they cause.

  • 4.5 Itinerary & Inclusions

  • Schedules may change due to weather, access or supplier issues. Inclusions are as stated in the booking confirmation.

  • General Terms

  • 5.1 Payments & Currency

  • All payments are in GBP (£). Bank or foreign exchange charges are your responsibility.

  • 5.2 Insurance

  • Personal travel and accident insurance is strongly recommended and may be mandatory for some events.

  • 5.3 Force Majeure

  • We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Remedies may include refunds, credits or transfers where reasonably available.

  • 5.4 Liability

  • Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Otherwise, liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

  • 5.5 Health & Age

  • Participants must be 18 or over unless otherwise agreed in writing. You are responsible for ensuring you are medically fit.

  • 5.6 Data Protection

  • Personal data is processed in line with UK data protection law and our Privacy Policy.

  • 5.7 Communications

  • All official communications will be sent via the contact details you provide.

  • 5.8 Changes to Terms

  • These Terms may be updated. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

  • 5.9 Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by UK law and subject to the jurisdiction of UK courts.
